Field Supervisor (WASPANG) - Fiber Optic Network Deployment

π― Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Field Supervisor (WASPANG) to oversee and ensure the successful, timely, and quality execution of our Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Outside Plant (OSP) network construction projects. The Field Supervisor will be the primary on-site representative responsible for adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
π Key Duties and Responsibilities
A. Project Supervision & Quality Control
- Directly supervise and monitor the daily activities of contractor teams performing fiber optic network construction, including trenching, cable pulling, pole erection, and installation of ODP/ODC.
- Ensure all construction and installation work adheres strictly to the approved design plans, technical specifications, and company quality standards.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections of materials and work progress to verify compliance with Bill of Quantity (BOQ) and technical requirements.
- Witness and document key installation stages, such as fiber splicing points, civil works (Handhole/Manhole construction), and cable routing.
B. Coordination & Problem Solving.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the contractor teams, the Project Management Office (PMO), and other internal departments (Planning, Engineering).
- Proactively identify and resolve technical or logistical issues arising in the field.
- Escalate significant deviations, delays, or major obstacles to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with local authorities and communities as needed to facilitate smooth project execution.
C. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare accurate daily progress reports, weekly summaries, and field activity logs.
- Conduct joint inspection and final testing (uji terima) with contractors upon project completion.
- Use measuring tools like OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), Power Meter, and Light Source to verify fiber integrity and document test results.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Experience
- Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Field Supervisor, WASPANG, or Field Inspector, specifically in Fiber Optic OSP/FTTH network deployment.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical design drawings (CAD/OSP maps).
Technical Skills (Hard Skills)
- Strong knowledge of FTTH/GPON architecture, cable installation standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in operating and interpreting results from fiber optic testing tools (OTDR, Fusion Splicer, Power Meter).
- Familiarity with Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical (CME) works related to telecom site construction (e.g., pole installation, Handhole/Manhole construction).
- Excellent command of MS Office/Google Workspace for reporting.
Other Requirements
- Possess strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills to manage contractors and resolve on-site conflicts.
- Must be willing to work primarily in the field and travel to various project locations.
- Possession of an active driverβs license (SIM A) is often required.
- Good proficiency in spoken and written English is beneficial.
